Make a Commercial

by Andrea Berman

If you're tired of seeing ads every time you turn on the tv, here's your chance to clean up the airwaves. Make a worthier commercial – right at your own dinner table. First, come up with a product that you want to advertise. This can be almost anything that you have handy – food, plates, napkins, or maybe an imaginary invention. Think of some points to make about the product and some interesting ways to deliver your message.

Can you write a jingle that will make your product "sell?" What about using sound effects, or demonstrating how the product works? You might also use a tag line in your spot. There's one thing that you have to watch out for, though. Sometimes, when the commercials get too good, they can be better than the regular programming!
