by T. Berry Brazelton, M.D., author of Feeding: The Brazelton Way

  • Frequent vomiting up of large amounts with feedings
  • Signs of pain with feedings, including crying, or arching of the back
  • Coughing or choking with feedings
  • Fussiness, irritability after feedings
  • Refusal to feed-arching, turning away
  • Bloody vomit or stools
  • Failure to gain weight, or weight loss

Although gastroesophageal reflux is more common, your doctor will also check for other causes of these symptoms, especially if they are severe.
