Proclaim Your Love of Life

It is often easier to articulate what we don't like about our lives than what we do like. But, before you can find more of what you want in life, you've got to know what that is.

  • With a heart full of gratitude, silently recount all of the things that you love about your life. Or, if you wish, jot them down so you can review your list at another time. You might start your list off by completing this unfinished sentence: "I really love _________."
  • Now, in the next few minutes, express what else you'd really like to come into your life. Think in specifics, creating a detailed picture in your mind.
  • You might write down your desires, so you can remember what you'd really love to see in your life.
There is an expression in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland that reads, "If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else." A corollary might be, "If you don't know what you want in life, you'll probably get something else."
