Q
My 14-year-old daughter has asked me if she may be allowed to wear thong underwear to hide panty lines. She is tall and slender with not much of a shape. I don't feel good about it -- I'm no prude but I wonder if it will send the wrong "message" to boys her age. And I guess they would know that she's wearing them by the absence of panty lines!

Your daughter isn't sending any messages to boys whether she is wearing thong or regular panties. Most boys her age won't note the panty lines or even less the absence of them. The issue here is how your daughter feels. She evidently is embarrassed by panty lines. If she doesn't have them, then my guess is she won't feel embarrassed. After wearing thong panties for a while, she may determine they are not worth the discomfort. Pantyhose would also get rid of the panty lines if she is comfortable wearing them.
