Sensing Parent-Intuitive Child

Sensing parents see an Intuitive child's dreamy, uneven ways and wonder how he will ever make it on his own. They may see their role as giving an Intuitive a dose of reality—calling attention to careless mistakes and asking detailed questions about how he intends to find the time to accomplish his big idea or pay for it.

The Intuitive may misinterpret his Sensing parents' involvement as "throwing a bucket of cold water on all my ideas." While Sensing parents might diligently show their love by managing a child's physical needs, the young Intuitive may discount those efforts, not noticing what they've done or realizing how much time it takes. One Intuitive tells how she noticed a bathtub ring at college and assumed the water was different in her dorm than at home. She had been oblivious to the daily scrubbing her Sensing mother gave the tub. [this just seems incredible! But true—no exaggeration.]

On the positive side, Intuitive children say they are often overwhelmed by the practicalities of implementing an idea and value a Sensing parent's help—typing a story, sewing a Halloween costume, or purchasing ingredients for a surprise birthday cake.
