The Greeks introduced boxing in the ancient Olympic Games in the late 7th century. The boxing program consists of 11 tournaments; one for each weight class. Boxing matches have four rounds of two minutes each, with one-minute rest periods. Women's boxing was added to the Olympics for the 2012 Games in London.
