Simplicity Cribs

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling all full-size Simplicity cribs with tubular metal mattress-support frames.

The frame can bend or become detached, causing part of the mattress to collapse. This can create a space in which an infant or toddler can roll into and become entrapped or fall out of the crib, posing a suffocation and strangulation hazard.

The CPSC urges parents to stop using these cribs immediately and find a safe sleeping alternative. In addition, parents are urged not to attempt to fix the crib themselves.

The CPSC has limited information on how many cribs were sold. The recalled cribs were sold at Walmart, Target, Babies R Us and other stores nationwide for between $150 and $300.

For more information, visit the CPSC's website.
