Camp Resources

For more help on choosing the camp that's right for your children:

  • The American Camping Association (ACA) works to preserve, promote, and enhance the camp experience for children and adults. ACA-accredited camp programs provide children with educational and developmentally challenging learning opportunities. For parent resources, visit ACA's parent site at www.CampParents.org or call 1-800-428-CAMP. Parents can also subscribe to ACA's e-newsletter, Camp e-news, to recieve tips, tools, and expert advice about camp.
  • You can also call your local Boy Scouts of America council, Girls Scouts of the U.S.A council, and YMCA.
  • Kids' Camps offers a comprehensive directory of camps and summer experiences including day, overnight, and specialty camps.
  • Rick Mades at Camp Finders visits summer camps on the East Coast. He meets the camp directors, tours the grounds and facilities, and learns about the program philosophy of each camp he visits. His camp suggestions and advice is free for parents and he will find a camp for campers ages seven to seventeen. For more information contact Rick Mades at Camp Finders, PO Box 812076, Boca Raton, FL, 33481. Or call him at 561-338-5750.
