Description of technique:
Your child wants to fashion their look based on the latest trends found in the music world; what do you do?

Be honest with your child in expressing your interests/disinterests with their fashion requests. Try to find solutions that you both can be happy with. Encourage exploration of their personality by agreeing that these clothes can be worn around the house. Suggest that they use these fashions for ?ess-up? extend the dramatic play by opening up your closet, lending them some of your clothes and accessories. If they are inspired by performance art, purchase a child's microphone or karaoke machine to play act out their favorite stars, encourage them to put on shows for you. Be a good audience member and clap, whistle and cheer them on; make them feel like a super star. You might discover that your child is a talented singer or dancer. Why not encourage them to start taking lessons to bring out their special talents.
