Description:
You could spend less than a full day here, of course, but there is no way to see and do it all.
Mystic Seaport features a 19th century village, with tall ships and historic buildings, and way cool exhibits that show what it was like to live in the village during the Whaling Days, when tall ships ruled the seven seas. There is also a shipyard, where traditional boatbuilding arts are still practiced, and taught.
Educational opportunities abound, including credits for college students and professional educators. Youth groups, sailing enthusiasts, historians... there's much to see and do here, and something for everyone.
There are even programs for kids in grades 4-8 to spend the night in one of the Tall Ships. No mere sleepover, that; there's Work to be done aboard ship ;-)
