Description:
This is the fresh-squeezed stuff! Lemons*, Sugar, and Water*:

Combine 1 cup of water with
1 3/4 c. sugar in a saucepan; heat to a boil, and stir until sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool to room temp; chill for several hours, or overnight (a clean jar is a good container).

Juice the lemons, removing seeds, but keeping the 'pulp'. In a large pitcher or an insulated jug, combine: syrup, juice, and remaining 7 c. water. Add ice as desired...or pour into ice-filled cups/tumblers.

Other comments or suggestions:
*This takes a lot o' lemon; we needed 6 big fat lemons to do the job!! Buy plenty...you'll use 'em somehow.

*Chilling the water in advance would minimize the number of ice cubes needed.

Fresh, pure Lemon Juice is also available in the freezer case (Minute Maid brand). There is a recipe on the box 4 that; it's different ratios, and not pulp-y. I like to thin-slice one lemon, and float a few slices in the pitcher, plus a slice in each clear glass.

However you make it, Real Lemonade is like the essence of Summer, and should be savored as often as possible during the 'dog days' of intense heat.

Didja know that a few lemon slices in a pitcher of filtered water is a nearly zero-calorie way to make plain water doubly refreshing?
A slice of lemon in a diet soda is also a flavor-booster.
